Free & Fair Elections

There seems to be a lot of stress on "Free and Fair Elections" worldwide these days, but do we really have "Free and Fair Elections" in the United States?

The U. S. Constitution does not actually guarantee the rights of U. S. Citizens to vote. There are amendments that state that the right to vote can not be infringed upon because of race, gender, or abiltiy to pay a poll tax, but the right to vote, in general, isn't there

Caucus in Texas - My First Time

Well, I posted yesterday about how excited I was to participate in my first Texas caucus. (It's actually a Precinct Convention - but it's the same thing.)

It was interesting. But I have to say I'm somewhat disappointed

Obama on Abortion and Same-Sex Union

A fellow blogger wrote in his blog about Barack Obama's support of abortion and same-sex unions. He linked to an article that has Obama's own words on these issues.

Obama explains his opinions on the issues, and explains how those opinions do not trespass on his Christianity. I agree

Voting in Texas

I'm excited about voting, as I've never been in my adult life. I will be the first to admit that I've never really cared much about primaries. I've always been content with whoever was the frontrunner, but NOT this time! I don't like to associate myself with labels; I don't really consider myself a "Democrat;" I prefer to think of myself as an "AMERICAN!"

This time around, however, I am determined that a Democrat win the presidency - because I think it is best for our country. We can't handle eight more years of the same
