Democratic Debates
November 16th 2007 17:25
Well, the democrats had another debate last night, in Las Vegas, Nevada. I'm still undecided. But, HIllary Clinton did shine last night. I think she's back on top.
I still don't know if I'd vote for her or not. Or any of them for that matter. I just don't trust them. They don't give straight forward honest answers. I find myself liking what someone is saying, then realize that he or she didn't really answer the question, or skirted around the issue.
John Edwards accused Clinton of flip-flopping on the issues, to which she countered by saying that he (and others) were mud-slingers. Honestly, I think they were both right on that one. While I don't like the mud-slinging, Clinton does say one thing and then do another sometimes. If I recall correctly, her husband did that on occasion too.
I don't like it when a candidate talks about the faults of another. Tell me about your STRENGTHS, not the other person's WEAKNESSES. Let me judge the other candidates for myself, tell me why I should LIKE YOU!
As for the issues, I don't think they spent nearly enough time on healthcare or education. What I'd like to see is a series of one-on-one interviews where the same questions are asked of each of them - but they aren't able to talk about the others, or argue at all. Let us know how each one of them feels about the specific issues, let us know what plans they have to change the way things are, and let us know what they've done so far. That's what I'd like to see.
