Tired of Politicians
September 15th 2009 03:08
I'm so tired of politicians. Do they know what the term "constituent" means? It doesn't mean someone who voted for them, or someone who agrees with them, it means someone whom they represent.
I've written to all my representatives about the health care issue. The problem is, none of them agree with me, or even come close. I can live with that.
What gets me is that they obviously don't read their mail. They (or someone who works for them) send form letter replies about the issues. But, the replies they send just assume that if you write to them, you must share their views. Every one of them (who took the time to reply) stated how much they appreciated my concern, and how I could "be assured" that they would not vote for any type of government run health care system.
The problem with that is, I wrote to express my SUPPORT for a government run health care system. How does their determination to fight that "assure" me of anything?
I thought our representatives were not supposed to do what THEY want, but what WE want. I'm sure, more of their constituents want to defeat anything our current president supports, but come on, if you're going to reply to a constituent's letter, at least make it sound like you read it.
